On March 14th, 89-Q-3 was the first 2007 bloom (F1 sxd) - three flowers opened. In the morning the bed had still been covered with snow and ice but daytime temperatures soared to 17°C. When I got home from work the first thing I did was take a look around the garden. By the time the sun went down I had discovered 29 clones showing colour. Other than 89-Q-3, only a couple were starting to open. The next day again felt like spring and 26 more clones were found under the straw showing colour. Cold weather returned on Friday March 16, with temperatures only just reaching freezing. In the early evening snow began to fall. By the next morning approximately 10 cm had come down. It was a lovely sunny day, and inspite of the fact the air temperature didn't get above freezing, some of the snow on the drivway and sidewalk melted due to the sun's radiant energy.
